#8 The Usual Suspects (1995)
Directed by Brian Singer, "The Ususal Suspects" is one of the most masterfully layered movies of all time. The ultimate mystery/crime drama ever made. No matter how many times you watch it, you get another clue of who Kayser Soze really is. Gabriel Byrne, who was also in Excalibur, but in this he plays the calculating master thief Dean Keaton, who is trying to leave that life behind him, but some jobs are just too rewarding to not take.
Kevin Spacey could win an Oscar reading the damn phone book, and perfect as a pathetic bottom feeder nicknamed "Verbal", who just so happens to have all the answers the police are looking for. Kevin Pollak is hilarious, as always. One of my favourite characters has to be Kobayashi, played by Pete Postletwaite, whose beyond calm, no matter how many guns are pointed in his face (want proof? look at the picture!). So rarely do such a large group of actors work together so flawlessly. This has got to be one of the movies one my list that I have seen the most, and is an absolute must watch.
